Cambridge, UK, from 13–16 April 2026, titled:
Prosperity as Practice: Faith, Culture, and the Conditions of Flourishing
This gathering builds on last year’s relational and intellectual groundwork while intentionally expanding the frame. It responds directly to contemporary discourses of precarity in research cultures by asking not only how scholars endure, but how communities of thought and practice might flourish. The convening is grounded in a longstanding Cambridge tradition of scholars who are also musicians, theologians, and cultural practitioners—those for whom intellectual life has been shaped by faith, sound, embodiment, and communal responsibility.
The animating question of our time together is a simple but demanding one:
What would it mean to practise prosperity, rather than merely endure scarcity?
Drawing on Black religious traditions, embodied cultural practices, and interdisciplinary scholarship, the convening will be structured around conversation, shared meals, listening practices, and sustained dialogue. While this is not a conventional conference, participants…
